Human Reaction Mechanism

A Structural Model of Individual Behavior. This page gives a public overview of the theory without hosting the contracted English manuscript or the full book text.

Core Question

Before behavior appears, what structure has already made it possible?

Human Reaction Mechanism is an original, non-normative theoretical framework. It does not begin by judging whether a person is good, bad, healthy, weak, or strong. It asks a lower-level structural question: under what conditions can a living system generate a response, pass through internal adjudication, and produce behavior?

The theory treats operability, stability maintenance, stimulus input, imbalance, emotional marking, behavioral adjudication, freezing, consciousness, thought, subjectivity, evaluation, and experience registration as connected layers in a reaction-level model of individual behavior.

Positioning

Not a psychology textbook, not a moral system.

The book is positioned between psychology, behavioral science, philosophy of action, systems theory, and AI modeling. It is not a clinical manual and does not replace psychological counseling, psychotherapy, psychiatry, or neuroscience.

Its main contribution is a structural language for describing how behavior becomes possible before it is later explained as intention, emotion, value, personality, or conscious choice.

Author

Miao Lin / Laoxin99

Miao Lin is an independent researcher working across human behavior structure, decision architecture, emotional systems, systems modeling, and mechanism-based intelligence. His work connects long-term theoretical writing with engineering demos such as ZhiNao and CognitiveBridge-v0.

Four Safe Public Theses

Emotion marks imbalance.

Emotion is treated as a structural marker of imbalance or rebalancing, not as the direct ruler of behavior.

Behavior requires adjudication.

Behavior is not reduced to stimulus-response. It passes through a behavior-leading adjudication structure.

Consciousness has a boundary.

Consciousness can intervene and assist under conflict, but it is not described as the highest behavioral judge.

Subjectivity is constrained difference.

The person is neither a passive machine nor an unlimited sovereign subject, but a system capable of active difference under constraints.

Book Structure

Five-part architecture.

The public structure below is based on the Chinese final manuscript outline. It is shared as a high-level map, not as a release of the manuscript.

  1. Life system and stability maintenance: operability, life stability, organ stability, and psychological stability.
  2. Stimulus, imbalance, and emotional marking: how inputs become imbalance and why emotion appears as a marker.
  3. Behavioral adjudication, freezing, and path solidification: why behavior needs adjudication and how repeated paths become patterns.
  4. Consciousness, thought, and subjectivity interface: when consciousness intervenes, where thought arises, and how active difference is positioned.
  5. Evaluation, experience registration, and reaction loop: how outcomes are marked, stored, and folded back into future reactions.
Selected Table Of Contents

Public chapter-level map.

The following outline is shared to show the public structure of the book. It is not a release of the manuscript text.

Front Matter
  • Why a non-normative theory of human reaction mechanism is needed The opening question: why behavior needs to be described before it is judged.
  • Research object and theoretical boundary Clarifies what the book studies, and what it deliberately leaves outside.
  • Distinction from psychology, neuroscience, and philosophy Places the theory beside existing fields without claiming to replace them.
  • Constitutional positioning: anti-entropy, life-preserving tendency, and adjudication uniqueness Introduces the highest-level constraints behind the model.
  • Subjectivity and active-difference generation Frames the human being as neither a passive machine nor an unlimited sovereign subject.
  • Methodological statement and structural verification path Explains how a structural theory can be assessed without reducing it to a single experiment.
Part I: Life System And Stability Maintenance
  • 1. The lowest definition of a life system: operability Begins from the minimum condition that allows a system to continue running.
  • 2. Life stability maintenance: the structural position of the life-death axis Shows why survival-level constraint is placed at the bottom of all later behavior.
  • 3. Organ stability maintenance: the physiological base axis Connects bodily operation to the larger reaction structure.
  • 4. Psychological stability maintenance: operability in social survival Extends stability from body to social and psychological continuity.
Part II: Stimulus, Imbalance, And Emotional Marking
  • 5. Stimulus system: full classification of system inputs Maps what can enter the system before it becomes meaningful to the subject.
  • 6. Imbalance: from state change to stability deviation Asks when change becomes a pressure that the system must handle.
  • 7. Perceptibility mechanism: why emotion is generated at this moment Explores why some imbalances become felt while others remain silent.
  • 8. Structural definition of emotion: marker, not driver Repositions emotion as a signal within the reaction process rather than the final commander.
Part III: Adjudication, Freezing, And Path Solidification
  • 9. Behavior is not reaction: the necessity of adjudication structure Separates immediate reaction from the deeper process that permits behavior.
  • 10. Behavior-leading mechanism: the overall structure of the adjudication system Introduces the central mechanism through which action becomes authorized or blocked.
  • 11. Sources of behavioral frames: physiological, psycho-social, and meaning-linked structures Shows why behavior is shaped by multiple frames before conscious explanation appears.
  • 12. Trigger conditions and risk zones of frame switching Looks at when a person shifts from one operating frame into another.
  • 13. Freezing: dynamic solidification of adjudication paths Explores how repeated routes can become difficult to loosen.
  • 14. Structural consequences of freezing: a unified frame from personality to trauma Offers a structural lens for patterns that are often discussed separately.
  • 15. Desire-order flow: qualitative selection mechanism Examines how acceptance and rejection are shaped before final ranking begins.
  • 16. Selection mechanism: ranking flow and priority structure Explores how competing tendencies are ordered under constraint.
  • 17. Output forms of adjudication: permission, suppression, and delay Shows that not acting can also be a structured outcome.
  • 18. Behavior pattern library: solidification and inheritance of adjudication paths Explains how past routes become available templates for future reactions.
Bridge Chapter
  • Subject cognitive structure and behavior-leading mechanism: consciousness, thought, and long-term shaping Connects the behavioral mechanism to the later discussion of consciousness and thought.
Part IV: Consciousness, Thought, And Subjectivity Interface
  • 19. Conditions for consciousness intervention: alert zone and high-conflict invocation Asks when consciousness is called into the process, and why not all reactions require it.
  • 20. Boundary of consciousness authority: auxiliary, not adjudicator Draws a careful limit around what consciousness can and cannot decide.
  • 21. Minimal structural definition and generation conditions of thought Treats thought as something generated under conditions, not as a mysterious first cause.
  • 22. Three sources of thought: reactive, task-based, and active-difference generation Distinguishes different origins of thought without flattening them into one type.
  • 23. Thought feedback: formation of third-type stimulus Shows how thought can return to the system as a new input.
  • 24. Subjectivity interface: mechanism position of active-difference generation Places subjectivity inside a constrained mechanism rather than outside all structure.
Part V: Evaluation, Experience Registration, And Reaction Loop
  • 25. Evaluation system: structural marking of operation results Explores how the system marks what has happened after a reaction is completed.
  • 26. Experience registration: parameter update and behavior pattern reconstruction Shows how experience changes future reaction conditions.
  • 27. Historical sedimentation of thresholds, weights, and stability zones Looks at how time accumulates inside the system as altered thresholds and weights.
  • 28. Closed-loop structure of the reaction mechanism Brings the layers together into a recurring loop.
  • 29. The human being is not a passive machine, but not an over-authorized subject either Closes the book with a balanced view of mechanism, agency, and human difference.
Constitutional Layer

The theory also has a boundary layer.

The related constitutional notes define high-level axioms and limits for the system: stability priority, imbalance before emotion, adjudication uniqueness, consciousness boundary, and the distinction between mechanism-level description and value judgment.

These notes are used here only to clarify boundaries. Their full text is not hosted on this public page.

Connection To ZhiNao

From reaction theory to engineering demos.

ZhiNao is a mechanism-based intelligence research line inspired by Human Reaction Mechanism. CognitiveBridge-v0 is a small public demo showing one engineering question: if an external thought stream enters a system, how can it be constrained into low-permission candidates instead of taking over action?
